Fingerprints

Last Friday, Dilara came home with a sheet from school that was about fingerprints. I thought it was something she seemed interested in and I wanted to collect some resources and ideas in case she wants to expand upon the subject later on.
I was thinking about buying a graphite ink pad, like they use for thumbprints at the bank, but, since money is so tight, I think we will use a liberal amount of pencil "lead" rubbed onto a piece of paper and rub our fingers in that to cover them. If it doesn't work, we can try something else, but from what I see, it looks like it should be satisfactory. Regular ink pads are also an option, but they are so extremely messy. Got to keep wipes handy, and the fingers will be stained for some time.
